Manifold price check

I also have been waiting over 3 weeks for a manifold from renault, I too am on the "critical" list. Its a disgrace.

It would be rather expensive for them to acknowledge a problem. Cheaper to settle with the customers that kick up a fuss.

In other news, I've ordered new engine mounts!

When mine went a few weeks ago I just got 2 new flexis, took the manifold off myself and cut the old flexis off then welded the 2 new ones in. Total cost was about £50.

I'd imagine the welding is fairly difficult considering the proximity of the two flexis? My mate has a MIG welder but having used them in the past I think the head on it would be too large to weld inbetween the flexis, if you understand?

Yes I get what you mean, I am useless at welding so had a mate do it. He was using a Clarke mig welder and didn't have any issues, any closer and it would have been a different story. It's definitely not leaking at all now.

I've just put the price in the other thread, if anyone else interested in the manifolds from toyo sports, they'll be £200 each to folks on here.

About a week for new stock.

Superb. The fabricators that are repairing my manifold are shy about welding a Bosal 265-567 flexi to the manifold... They're worried about going through it! They've just sat on it for a week without telling me... So I think I'll wait another week and get a toyosports one, get the original one repaired (if they can) and keep it as a spare / sell it here if someone is desperate.

930, how will we know when they have stock in? Group buy on here / phone them / eBay?

They told me to keep an eye out on their listings which I'm doing daily, I'll let you know on here if you like.

I had the same issue with mine and spoke with RUK. My car was 5 years old with 40k.
Due to the fairly low mileage and service history I had with the car, they made a 70% contribution to a new manifold fitted through my local dealer.

I got fed up of waiting so I had my flexis repaired.

Not interested anymore I'm afraid

How much was that? And did you just go to a exhaust specialist? Can't have been cheap as the sub frame would still need to come off surly?

I paid a mate a couple hundred to do the job + others (most steering / anti roll bar components, sump gasket, rocker cover and engine mounts).

The mainfold was taken to another friend at a garage to MIG weld new flexis - the public price was something like £50 a flexi. Not too bad.

All in all, a £1000 saving off the Renault price and the car is they way I want it again!

I wouldn't bother welding the flexis again though... Too much time was spent faffing. I'd much rather have a new manifold ready to bolt on.

RE: toyosports, if someone with a standard system could let the rest of us know what the performance regarding flat spots and noise is like that would be great for next time a flexi costs me £££.

I'd come on here to say they were back in stock (but£239) so will be ordering mine tomorrow (for £200) and asking how others can/should pay for theirs.

Who else wanted one?
