Lower seat rails / suspension questions

Thats without any fascia, not that pretty.

Its worth bearing in mind that with the fascia he provides, unless you run the frame on the lowest hole (most drop - 50mm) the fascia will look a little odd due to how it mounts.

What I did was find a blanking plug for the plastic fascia (the hole for the lever) and trimmed a little off the bottom so it didnt catch on the frame. I run the seat on -30mm (though I am thinking of going lower) and the plastic fascia screws on the same as it always did.


As for matching side to side, it would be nice but does not look too odd. Plenty of cars have height adjustment in drivers seats only.

.... also I’ve heard lots about engine mounts ... I’m not after anything that causes vibrations to be honest . I’m thinking of buying a new torque arm and dog bone from Renault to freshen them up. Good idea ? Or get the Powerflex ones ?

Powerflex inserts on worn mounts is not really very good because you get movement and vibrations. Replace with new ones, and I would suggest doing all four (main one + gearbox + the two you suggest) before deciding. The vibrations are pretty significant, but if this is a toy then you'll like it I expect and they so easy to fit afterwards - twenty minutes each including all the faff.

I stuck with cup suspension. It's pretty firm and when it's new its great, but if its a toy then...?!

As for Powerflex Id suggest doing the 3 littler ones (Torque mount, dogbone and gearbox) and leaving the large one to minimise vibrations.

That on the lowest setting mate ?

I’ve decided just to replace the torque arm / dog bone with genuine ones . Can’t stand things vibrating and as the cars only done 20k it’s preventative more than out of need .

Its not, as previously mentioned its on the first setting. There are 3, -30mm, -40mm and -50mm. Thats -30mm from its original height.

I believe these are only used for the standard Recaro CS seats ... after market seat would require a different set up I would image .

No bud, they would run normal mounts as per the manufacturer of your seats. Most buckets would sit fairly low anyway.
