Lift reverse broken HELP

I think I’ve broken the lift to reverse mechanism as it has no resistance now and 1st is easy to confuse with reverse! Is this an easy fix?

You will have to replace the spring which is under the gear knob.
The gear knob itself can be difficult to remove, but it does just pull straight upwards and off (even though it’s ridiculously tight)

Thanks mate, I can’t work out where the spring should be, does it just slip over the stick?

It'll all become apparent when you remove the knob. The trim around the gearstick should just lift off too if you wanted to have a look under there too.
The knob sandwiches a spring between itself and a plastic outer which slides up and down and provides the lockout for reverse.
