Legal or illegal tires

Hi guys..just read a thread about making some of the most popular(road legal atm in the UK) tires illegal from 2014-15 when travelling to Europe.Anyone knows a bit about this topic??
As I travel abroad sometimes it would be great to be sure before buying a new set(which il have to do so soon).
tried a google search but seem to find not much info..

I wouldn't worry about it tbh buddy, I use 'just about' road legal slicks, going over to Germany in a few weeks on them, they're E stamped, that's s all that matters, I can't see that's rules coming into action tbh.

Would take months to fade( rule) them out for road use

and you never had any issues with the police when travelling abroad??

I went to Germany as a passenger in July in a Clio 182 running r888's, no issues at all
