I took the 200 out of mothballs and drove it over to Autoglass in Sheffield for a new screen. I had deliberated over it since I bought it but took the plunge. It was scratched just to the right of centre when I bought it, almost a scouring type mark.
The guy at autoglass was very good, interested in the car and said he would take extra care with it. I had a wander round Meadowhall next door for 3 hrs.
Insurance wouldnt pay for an OEM screen as they were £480 but it was a Pilkington one so I was happy at that.
I dropped it off at 10am and collected at 1.15. Very nice job, all back together ok, no missing screws under bonnet etc. I even tipped the lad a fiver!
Its amazing how fresh the car feels with the new screen, you dont realise how many marks and little chips you get. I did hold my breath driving back home on motorway for fear of the first chip before I got it home!
Tucked up in garage again.....next trip out with be to fit the Akrapovic!!
