I thought the Twingo only just got facelifted so it seems abit soon to be developing the new Twingo platform doesnt it? Would this not be something seperate?

its a joint venture with merc and they were platform sharing on the small stuff and sharing engines etc

just because a model gets face lifted doesnt mean they are not working on the replacement - just think if it is then its rear drive rear engined and will need a lot of developement for both vehicles it replaces not to mention crash test etc so yes it could be the new platform - and its been done before by renault a concept on a new platform or new engine!

Looks like Renault are dabbling with another mid-engined hatch. Going purely from the sound the one in the vids makes, it's a V6.

Looks awesome and possibly the new Renault 5, hence the number. Can't see Renault making a production rear engined beast again, probably just a marketing play thing. Its funny how there were huge discussions and rumours about an outgoing 200 special this car will probably start it off all again, it didn't happen because wild specials are no longer in the business plan, they don't need them.
