High revving cars

wont be anything "standard" revving to that limit

probably closest will be the honda v-tec engines with 8-9k revs and of course the ferrrari 458

how about an rx7. Heard they revved quite high.

I think stock even the rotaries don't rev that high, the 787B race car stops around 9.5k afaik

Edit/ supposedly the 787B could rev to 10.5k and produce 980hp but was limited below that presumably so it lasted a race

The Lexus LFA?

"The engine redlines at 9,000 rpm, but with a fuel cutoff set at 9,500 rpm"

:worried:

Edit tbh my 10k aim was just a arbitrary roundish number to look out for

it certainly screams

there not any "standard" road cars in that lot - they are either super cars or track car specials

mazda rx8 - think the buzzer goes off at 8000-9000rpm - but you need the revs that high due to the lack of low down torque

as for the s2000 - red lined at 8500rpm isnt it

Toyota's VVTLI (I'm sure that's all of the letters) 1.8 doesn't hit the limiter until 8,400 from the factory.

It can get to 9,500 ''safely'' with some ECU fiddling apparently.

And bevause of the lack or torque in general lol! My dads got the 225 version or what ever it is, feels crap tbh. It's quick but the Clio feels much better and faster IMO. His buzzer goes off at 9k iirc

Love it.

Not a 10k revver, but mental none the less.

That Skyline is mental! The acceleration is out of this world!

Well according to the ever reliable Wikipedia; the 2.2l S2000 revs to 8,500rpm, the 2.0l revs to 9,000rpm. The highest revving production car at the moment is the Lexus LFA @ 9,500rpm. Looking through this list there are loads of Ferraris etc that are well into the 8k limits.

I hope the next Clio is the same
