High Compression Pistons

Ever fitted any up and overs to a 197? I saw an old thread on cliosport with some that had been fitted, it'd be interesting to see some results tbh on an RR.

Random question but any idea if theres room for upping displacement? I know a certain 197 that ended up closer to a 2.1 litre but is there much benefit?

Some of the R3 Access cars run at just shy of 2.2ltr's, I believe they are the same lump just bored out so it is possible and they are pushing around 250bhp

extra capacity is via a longer stroke from the crank, rather than 'boring out'.

nice bit of kit that!!

That's the one I worked on and I'm working on something similar as my own product at the moment

runing 2.2 can get expensive....

standard engine bored over by 1mm gives you approx 50cc more 2047cc

engine is already under square so this already within reason promotes "torque"

if my situation was different i would seriously consider getting a spare engine and giving it some internal changes - lighter and stronger - but would not be chasing bhp as such...
