Hi im Jay, im new to the site just been reading up on here for a week until i got my email from the site! im a member of cliosport have been for years iv had 3 cliosports in the past a cup,182 FF,and a Trophy so i know the renault sports well.im looking forward to be in a 197 soon tho so i will be asking questions and getting some ideas off you guy/gals that know them well!

I have a budget to spend on it and iv got a little list of a few things that need doing to make it the way i like,seen some really nice 197's on this forum got some great ideas.

Anyway hope to be sitting in the 197 members section at FCS and other South east meets this year and i intend on doing track days in it like i did in the 182 so bring that on!:smile:

Thanks, well first off im looking for a "normal" 197 not cup and not F1 as im looking to spend 8-8.5k want one with a few options, then going to fit a pair of Recaro pole postion's,kw V1 coilovers, front splitter side skirt splitters and rear spoiler all from the renault sport range im not sure where is best to get them apart from renault dealer? i get 10-15% off from them,if anyone knows the prices from a dealer. might go for 17x8 light weight wheels or keep standard and go gunmetal or black not sure, i was also thinking of going custom on the exhaust as my local place has done a few exhausts for a tuning comapny that uses there 197 for racing so will have the good idea on making me up one (if not what exhaust do you think is best on the market?) then il get the inlet matched and rs remap i had the same on my 182 was a very worth while mod just hope it works the same on this engine?

small things also like richbrook gear knob!! and might go for a 200 rear splitter just need to find out if thats possible? anyone else thought about it or done it?

Anything you think i should be adding as a "must" for a 197 owner please do tell!

Sound good plans.
200 rear would be straight swop.
With your discount dealers would be about cheapest for kit.
 
Ok great, by chance would you know what the front, sides and rear spoiler are new from dealer?

Not sure on prices but the part numbers are in the general section in the useful part number thread.

Chappo-oh great i thought it wouldn't be long untill someone did it as it does look good on the 200 sets the rear end off nice,if i dont im looking to get some "tidy" 3" slash cut tailpipes fitted if i go custom so it will give a similar effect.depends how much renault dealers want for the rs200 bit.

Pez-good question im not 100% sure yet! i know im not going for red (i like red!) but between black and blue at the moment.its down the the spec and price,mileage etc whatever seems the best for my money i think all are good looking in any colour but its got to tick a few boxes,anything i should look out for when buying a 197??

F1team- yes! i looking forward to it doing lists and thinking about it is doing my head in! i just want to get on and do it! i won't be able to get it all done at once but a good few bit will be sorted in the first couple of weeks

i see Yoz is doing the kw V1's at a good price are his prices including VAT on his site?

why not red? it's the best colour! haha.
I kno people have had problems with paint peeling off around the front grills especially. check the air con actually works properly. i'm sure other members on here can give you alot more things to look out for!
 
Pez-ha yes red is nice! thanks for the pointer il be checking for any bodyshop repairs too.

i can bet the 200 diffusers is not cheap! i phoned renault dealer today with part numbers for the front.side and rear spoilers and it was nearly £700! but i do get 15-20% discount as i work for a renault specialist at the moment. so that may help in gettting the price down!
