Handbrake noise

Not sure where to put this section wise, but when i take my handbreak off for some reason it seems like the car is sticking and makes a cracking noise then starts moving...? what could this be? Its only just started doing it over the past few days, could rain contribute?

not just mine then! Hampshires taken a wet beating over the past couple of days, i guess thats it! just scarey! think my cars broke!:thumbdown:

Sounds like the rust on the disc when you set off and brake a few times it should clear the noise. mine does excatly the same when it rains or i wash it.

Common problem mate, when you park the car with the handbrake on and its wet, cold, or even just damp the pads will stick to the disc while the car is sitting. Then when you go to move it again the crack noise is the pads coming off the discs. just leave the handbrake off when its raining etc if you can then you wont have that problem!
