Great driving roads and sights in France??

Hey guys, I've never left the country and have only just got my passport so me and the girlfriend are planning on driving to France at the end of the month just for a coupe of days. We're planning to go in to Paris and was wondering if anyone knows of places worth visiting or any good roads on our way from Calais to Paris?

Can't think of any off the top of my head, but just remember to think twice at every t-junction and roundabout...driving on the other side takes a little getting used to lol!!
