Give me any good reasons...

I went to Geneva for the motor show, all be it the area around the palexpo probably wasn't the most beuatiful part, but I found it very expensive and the people generally very rude.

Also, as for the medical expenses, 10% of any treatment could still lead to some amazing bills!

I work with medicine, and seeing the costs involved with it are frightening. Some of the cancer drugs are frighteningly pricey. Thats without operations and doctors costs, see if you can price up some serious illnesses before you start to think 10% isn't much.

This is the type of stuff I have read about in the Economist.

Quite often deal with medicines that cost 5-10k a unit. So if they last say a month, and the treatment is 6 months to a year, that's a lot of money!!

Now imagine the cost of a boob job, relatively basic procedure, think how much the surgeon charges.

Now think of a major brain operation with a specialist surgeon.............

why Switzerland?

If i was moving abroad i think it would be Canada.

Euro is useless, £1 = 1.12 Euros

So the money better be worth the change, else whats the point. I expect the cost of living would be expensive.

Lucky Switzerland doesn't have the Euro then

I have gone through every bill, and everything apart from food and rent is similar to here - them two items alone are 3x what we pay here!

Hmmmm, sounds ideal.

I have to make sure that we both want to do this.

None of the above points have really put me off, there will be negatives everywhere. My biggest single fear is the language. I can speak a bit of German, but there is a severe problem with their accent. It is VILE!

hmm if I was going to move out of the UK, I would move to Canada.

EU countries just don’t appeal to me at all, they are all still very pricey to live etc

And the UK is not a bad place to live, yes it can be **** at times but places like Germany filter blood in game and block what you can buy and watch on-line, that would do my head in.

Either way just make sure its what the both of you want, you might be worse off than you are now once you factor in cost of living etc

Canada is one of the top places for Brits to go, bit too far for me lol!

Switzerland is not part of the EU so doesn't get so much abuse from the EU - they have their heads screwed on!

When I find out how much the pay is, I can then be utterly sure what it will be for us! :uk: or :swiss:
