Gearbox oil change

whilst doing some homework on the bets gearbox oil I am being swayed to Triple Qx 75-80w
Has anyone else used this?

Isn't this the oil EuroCarParts sell? Not sure on the specs of that specific oil, but the official one is cheap enough to avoid me looking elsewhere for now (and it comes with the washer).

EDIT: If you're planning on doing it yourself, make sure you remove the filler plug prior to draining it out.

So many opinions on oil. I would rather change gearbox oil regularly with the Elf oil.

Works great for me and at £20 odd is cheap enough to do often. Which all helps these sometimes fragile gearboxes....

I spoke to the dealer last night and asked if they kept the gearbox filler plugs in, they didn't but the parts guy seemed to think they had changed them to a steel part now? Anyone had one?

I think the filler plug is plastic, shouldn't be a need to replace it, just important to check you can get it out before you drain the oil!

You get the drain plug washer with the 2 litres of oil I linked to, and it's just an 8mm bit (same as the engine sump plug) to undo it.

Does the plastic filler plug just require finger tightening or pinching up with pliers?

Tighten filler plug by hand. Drain plug is torqued to 25nm.
