Hey guys,

New 197 owner from Sydney, Australia here. Have been lurking on the site for a while, mostly looking at images but now finally have a reason to contribute! I picked up a 2008 RS 197 in Albi Blue with 29k kms on it on Saturday! It's got a K-tec cat-back exhaust, basic RS Tuner remap and tints all round, and I love it!

This is how she was when I picked her up (previous owner didn't wash or clean the interior!)

So I gave her a quick bath a went for a spin with some mates:

That's it for now. I've got a couple of small plans for her, like silvervisions, debadge Clio, spray/wrap bullets, respray wheels in R27 anthracite, stereo upgrade etc and maybe down the track I'll look at springs/coilovers and Ultraleggeras.

I'm very familiar with the Clio scene as I have a 172 for track days and my previous daily (which is for sale) is a 182 FF with cup suspension pack!

If you've got any suggestions for little mods, things to do to her, let me know. I've got one question for now which is, does anyone know how to fix a squeaky clutch pedal?

Hows it feel going from the 1*2 models up to the 197. Also get some pics etc up of the 172 :smiley:

Cheers mate. The 197 is certainly a step up in many areas: gearbox, interior, build quality, seating position, size, refinement, chassis and steering! I've yet to take it through a mountain road but have driven my mate's R27 a bit on some twisty bits :thumbup: it felt a lot more planted, direct and confident.

I still love the 1*2 and am keeping my 172 for track days but the 197 is great for driving around town and will undoubtedly be more comfortable on longer trips.

I'll get some pics of the 172 soon but here's a taste!

172 looks a nice piece of kit mate. Would love one as my track toy, a little pricey for my budget though :worried:.

That cage looks sweet!
 
My Dad didn't want to be outdone by me buying a new blue Renaultsport, so he arrived at my place to give me a lift to get my new car in HIS new blue Renaultsport that he had bought the day before...

Love the CL10 numberplate, similar to what we get here :smile:

Yeh I know Nath from our Aussie forum. He's got a LY 200 + 172 track car, and used to have a red 197!

We've got our annual OZRS forum meet coming up in a few weeks so expect lots of photos after that :thumbup:
