Engine modes?

Does the ecu have different modes when driving, i know when it's warming up it has a different setting, stating the obvious :001_rolleyes: but when i put my foot down its like the car comes alive in a totally different way, it bites into the road, it feels so nimble, the only thing i could think of before was the tyres were warming up & suddenly having more grip?

Im sure you all know the feeling im talking about :cloud9:

dunno but to get any power out of it u have to ring its neck out lol then it seems pretty nippy for a week or 2

I find it really comes into its own after its been running for at least an hour, just gets better the longer you drive it

The technical term for the engine mode when cold is 'don't ****ing try and rev me or i'll kangaroo and make you look stupid' mode.

Or "put your foot down when pulling off from a roundabout and no acceleration then a few seconds later you get pulled into the seat" mode

Both of the above are quality

My trip computer said 28mpg when I filled her up and then it kept on going down as days have gone by even though I was short shifting and It went down to read and stay at 25mpg doing urban driving. On way back home this eve I thought I would give it a bit of welly on dual carriage ways and then taking it easy and cool her down on urban roads nearer home. Believe it or not the MPG has gone up to 26.9. It's weird how it differs. I don't know whether it's because of the time limit I drove the car and if it likes being pushed for a bit before short shifting and getting cooled down?

The most I get on motorways is 35MPG. Has anyone else's trip computer been showing inconsistent MPG's like mine?

Hope this makes sense? lol

Look forward to hearing some of your feedback?

Chris
