been looking at oil for my new clio

as its under warranty still i will get some elf evolution sxr



some adverts i have seen for the oil says its for diesels, such as kangoo or laguna diesels etc



is this oil for petrol and diesel engines or is there a fuel specific type?

i need 5l and a 1l top up bottle but want to be sure there isnt 2 different types

most modern oils are rated for both petrol and/or diesel. They have an ACEA rating, A3/B4 for example, the A part is the petrol grading, the B part is the Diesel grading.

The marketing of specific oils for Diesels was pretty much because people are scared of oil and need a big sign that says "USE THIS ONE!!!!!"

bought 6litres for £35 delivered which wasnt bad



anyone know where i can get a genuine renault oil filter other than the dealership?

They're usually on eBay for around a tenner, same as the 172/182 oil filters.

Mine was £7-56 from the stealers, included the sump plug washer

its not due a service for 7000 miles or almost 12 months but as its going to be on the track alot im going to change the oil every few thousand miles

the filter wont need changing every time but every other oil change maybe

thats what i did on my race bikes and it worked fine
