Electric windows only go up/down in small amounts

As per the title guys.on my 200 If you pres or hold the up or down switch the window wil only move an inch? Any ideas,

Yep, it's a safety thing because it thinks a kiddie has been playing with the button!!!

You've not been trying to get both windows open the same amount have you!?! That's the usual cause!!!

To Fix;

1; Take the offending window ALL the way down, it takes a while but you need to do it.
2; Once it's ALL the way down, release the button and wait a few seconds.
3; Now hold the button DOWN again for about ten seconds.

After that it should go back to normal. :thumbup:

Not saying its the same thing, but I had this in my r26 when I had left it for 6 months and the battery ran out. I jumped it off with another car but it was a few days before the windows stopped doing this, I presume whilst the battery recharged itself enough

it works if you go all the way up and keep your finger on for 10 sec or more.

Currently having this problem also. Hopefully Willis' advice fixes it!

My 197 is currently suffering with this affliction on the driver's side, but the reset procedure only seems to last for duration of the journey it's done in - if that makes sense. It 'forgets' it's been reset when the ignition is switched off.

Garage I spoke to recommended replacing the whole regulator assembly in my case.
