Electric supercharger

Surely a turbo beats a supercharger hands down..? As in the best all rounder, emissions, Mpg and cost.

Ha Ha Yes but with one of these the figures that are quoted are pretty good. It will only produce 6.6 Psig of boost for a start so not like turbo boost but it's more useable with no lag so at low down speeds the pick up will be better, so in theory you will get better power from the engine = better mpg. As a theretically value they have quoted 50% torque gain so that gives a 200 say 300ish ft/lbs! As for the top end not really sure pobably the same. Then again if its £500 and gives you a extra 1 sec on the 0-60 time I think it's better value than cam's! I should imagine you would need to have a bigger battery ! which might slow the 0-60 down by about 1 sec....Bahhhh !.

This won't be a bolt-on job, engine systems will have to be designed from scratch to make these work because it will only be able to provide boost for small periods (ie getting to 40mph from a standstill).
