Dumdums RS200 cup

So what colour you reckon? I’m tempted by dark metallic grey

Any colour goes with white so depends how broad your mind is and wether your willing to push boundaries..

Satin or Gloss black are instant winners... dark metallic would be ok another safe bet..

I’d say fuck it and go lime green

If you’re under 25 then knock it out the park with a lairy red/blue.

If youse middle ages then anthracite!

Rub down all over with 600 grit on the primer and then...

Two in Halfords basecoat anthracite grey, used best part of 3/4 of a 500ml can on each as I was doing the inside rear as well, best order two more cans and four more lacquer as well...

Many light coats of lacquer going on in a few days

The atmosphere in the workshop at work is a bit nice at the minute, I’m leaving the heaters on full welly overnight to dry the lacquer, got some runs on the second rim in the centre between the spokes and ironically the same rim the can of lacquer developed a drip! :censored::censored::censored::censored::censored:

Painted, Lacquered and even did the badges (there’s one in the middle of the workshop in the overspray drying nicely too before anyone asks :sunglasses:)

Pretty pleased considering Ive never really sprayed anything with so many curves or nooks and crannies before! Never paid so much attention to prep which 100% makes a difference!

Just ordered two uniroyal RainSport3 for the front, will use a couple of the freebie Contis that came with em until I can afford a few more

My rainsports felt like jelly after using AD08R’s! Admittedly it was sunny and warm Sunday which is not ideal for them

My V6 van ran rainsport 2’s and that was an animal, I must admit in general British crap weather they are one of the best tyres, but yeah they are a bit soft and I don’t expect them to last too long being honest, there again I reckon I’ve eaten over half my front yokes up inside 3-4000 miles, price of having fun in the Peak District... no track days as yet mind

Bad news is I have three or four minor runs... good news is at least I got plenty of lacquer on them (my mate who was a pro painter always said if you got minimal runs at least you had a decent amount of paint on a car) no orange peel and they look pretty damn awesome for saying it’s the first thing I’ve ever rattle canned properly... and Ive just come to the workshop and the thermostat says a positively balmy 20 degrees first thing at 7am so they have been nice and warm overnight so should be well on there way to hardening nicely

I may actually treat them to some extra hard pu lacquer which I should’ve bought in the first place but missed! Apparantly it’s good for overcoating normal car lacquer and should put a properly nice shine on em with a few cans of that

looks very good man..if you take your time the result will be impressive...:thumb:
Being honest I am toying with getting my mate with a body shop to give them a few coats of 2 pack lacquer as rattle can lacquer isn’t as hard and resistant to some cleaning fluids
