Droping Meg 225 into a 197

If you have the £s to spend then definitely, otherwise as Conley would say 'roll the dice', and hope you bought a gud un, which with anything French is... who knows

Typical meg graph

That's a standard v stage 1 example

Jonesys had the r26r clutch setup iirc, I'm sure he can correct me if I'm wrong

sure have, i believe that the r26r clutch is 20% stronger than the normal one. want the helix set up but werent gonna wait 8 weeks.

based on that looks like i got a good engine

20% greater clamping force, the helix and some arps will be what I go for before turning mine up any further

Don't think it's been tried, the general concensus on megsport was 'no' when Litchy asked the question, and that was answered by a few renault technicians

Hmm. Might have to settle for a fairly old engine by the time I get round to the conversion. Would have to spend a pretty penny rejuvenating it I bet.

Never know. The Clio 4 RS turbo unit might fit ?

Old engines ain't always that bad, look at the zetec lump in the fords...

I'm sure the new engine will fit, it's probably gonna end up based around a twingo lump, so will probably have plenty of space I a clio

Well Nissan are already tuning the 1.6 turbo engine to 300 bhp. So thats definately a goer in the future for peeps methinks!

225/R26 conversion changed the landscape no doubt. I think its a good thing. I'm staying NA for now. TBH I've always wondered why people have never thought about fitting the 182 engine given the tuning options available to it. ITB, Turbo's, SC...Was looking on youtube at the 350 forged supercharged 182 built by RS Tuning.....hmmmm
