DIY 200/197 Camera Mount

What you need

1 x iphone4 or 3gs
1 or 2 x heavy duty elastic bands
1x Poverty spec passenger seat

Slide passenger seat as far forward as possible.
Move the passenger head rest up
Place the iphone (side on/widescreen) between the headrest and the top of the seat , with the camera facing the windscreen and the lens closest the floor
Slide headrest back down so it traps the phone in place
Put rubber bands around iphone and head rest to prevent lateral movement.
Press record on camera app

Away you go Camera mount Yorkshire style.

Tried it a few nights back and the quality is awesome , cant post up the vid though cos I'll get told off :argue:

I used a simular thing on track days.. but it would work with any generic camcorder/camera with a camera thread on the bottom.

i.e.

- 1x 1" plank of wood
- Drill 2x holes in line with headrest bars
- Drill 1x hole just big enough for bolt to reach camera/corder
- Take off head rest, slide on 'plank' and refit..
- Screw bolt into camera.. done.

I went all posh and then fitted mouse mat-like material to the plank to protect both the seat and the camera.

Worked like a charm and other than the odd remark/question, tracks were happy that it was used on track days too!
