Date of car construction

Tech at work (tyre enthusiast - sad i know) told me that there is a date stamp on the side of the tyres. Mine was 1709, which apparently means the the tyre was made on the 17th week of 2009. I didnt know this. Apparently Continental resupply the Renault factories ever 3 weeks, so would be a good guess of knowing when your car was built, and let you know if it had been sitting in a field for months or not. Boring fact, but hey. :tomato:

yeah - you should check this date when you buy new rubber, as even though it is new, unused, rubber does deteriorate over time. some tyres sit around for years!!
