Dash cam hardwire help

Hi guys.

Just purchased a front & rear dash cam and I’m just after some advise.

I’ve also purchased a hard wire kit - with a fuse piggy back. I was planning to use one of the fuses either in the glovebox or the small compartment by the steering wheel. Can someone advise me of the best fuse to use so that it comes on/off with Ignition etc.

I used ciggy lighter mate!

Lighter socket to 4 port cig lighter/usb socket,fitted under dash, all plug in there, out of sight, and I hardwired the GoPro to there as well.

same here or you can try use the small fuse box under the steering wheel..

Could I just tap into the wiring at the back of the cigarette socket? Will it not need to be fused ?

You could tap in there, but I would advise you use an inline fuse.

Okay, I suppose it would be easier/safer just to use my piggy back fuse & piggy back off the cigarette lighter fuse ?

Just find out what fuse the ciggy lighter is and use the proper one in the fuse box. Don't half arse it for the sake of 10 mins
