conti 3's side walls

my friend needs to replace his tyres on his focus rs mk2 so we got to talking about what ones to buy, i suggested just staying on the conti's as there one of the best tyres around but he said that there prone to splitting on the side walls on the f rs. iv never heard of this before anyone else experianced this?

Never heard of that and yes the conti Allways seems to come on top

Not heard of this BUT, when i was looking for a 197 i had to look hard several times at the tyre sidewalls.

I thought a few of them looked like they had crazed/cracked, it's the pattern on the side in one part that looks bad ;/

It might just be because the f rs is heavier
