This is an almost two year old car. Pretty sweet ride. Couldn’t expect better mileage. Love the new safety features. But for some reason my key hasn’t been working for the past two days? Do you think calling a locksmith will prove to be too expensive?

I'd still go back to the dealership and kick up a fuss!
Say you needed it fixing there and then, hence you had to call a locksmith. Say you're not happy, it shouldn't be something that's failed so quickly! - You 'might' get some money back or a free service or something lol. Worth a try!

Missing In Action
Instead of calling a locksmith, call the RAC. They will recover it to the dealer and provide a courtesy car.
Instead of kicking up a fuss like the previous post mentions. Us people in dealers don't really appreciate that. Warranties are put in place for a reason as is roadside assistance
