Clio 200 Supercharged Track Car!

I need to update this thread now. Maybe I should start a fresh project thread as there's a lot more coming shortly!

UPDATE:

Not really much happened with the Clio recently due to building my other halfs car with her.. Was originally a red S14 and it went under a full respray in our garage, along with new wheels, caliper refurb, coilovers and a wing. Also painted and fitted a full rocket bunny kit too it aswell. I done the respray myself with rattle cans, followed by a full wet sand and polish. I'm pretty happy how it came out! I will include a before and after photo of the car (and before anyone asks.. yes it is the same car)...

As for the Clio, I was enjoying it for a while going to shows and a couple of trackdays. I ended up stripping the entire car with the intention to cage it. Once i had stripped it i decided i needed to make some kind of footplate so i managed to get some sheet aluminium and a foot rest, put them all together and it seems to do the job! However, my OCD gets the better of me and i want something that looks a bit neater so if anyone has made something that doesn't cost £100's then i'd be interested to see pics etc!

Recently I've really been thinking that i need to cage it, i seen a couple of members got their cages in and all freshly painted and i was slightly jealous. I was either going to go R019 or R020 route but in the end a R020 came up for sale and i quickly snapped it off the previous owners hands for a great price! So far i have managed to get the rear installed and the front section will go in this weekend weather permitting.

Now considering my car is silver.. I want a little advice as to what colour to get the inside of the car painted? Do i just do it silver? or white? Of course the insides of the doors are silver so whatever colour i go it needs to match.

Next up over the winter i will be doing powerflex suspension kit, adjustable top mounts and i fancy the cup racer scoop just for the additional looks

I have also always fancied the Mk3 GT rear lights so i bought some of those too, need to get them fitted now the MOT is done for another year.

When i got back with the roll cage.... 22643269_10155076293748927_29624764_o.jpg

This is what spare rooms are for right????

Your car looks great. Very racy! I'd leave the inside of the Clio silver, the cage satin black and actually give the white strutbar (or how ever that parts is called) the same satin black colour. Would fit the rest of the partially black interior quite well me thinks.

That Ricer is not my cup of tea but it still looks good. The part with the rattle can paint job is close to unbelievable. Looks quite good on the photos.

Thanks dude! The inside atm is just the plan bare metal colour, theres not really any colour to it.. or are you saying get it painted in silver? The strut brace will probably be coming out tbh as it does bugger all bar take up space where I can put tools and tyres lol

I'd say leave it as it is. If that brace is going to fly overboard even better as that means nothing to paint inside at all. Time and money saved for other things like getting the spoiler painted in silver for example.

UPDATE:

So the cage is in now and has been for a few weeks and the car is all back together! I've actually just booked it in to have Supercharger kit fitted in a couple of weeks time.. So looking forward to having it done and with more power but at the same time keeping the rawness of the Clio and it's N/A feel!

I've a little project which is keeping me occupied whilst i wait for the date i drop the car off to be done = Double gauge pod(WIP!!) which will have the boost gauge in and most probably an AFR gauge at some stage.

After i hacked away at it with the dremel this is what i came up with:

After a bit of fibreglass and filler work:

There are still some low spots but i have bought some filler primer so i will hit it with a coat of that to identify the low spots and attack it with a bit more filler and hopefully i'll get it painted up this weekend!

And final pictures with the cage in etc etc

Haha there won't be enough people after them for me to warrant spending the time doing them i doubt!

I've bought the kit from Steve which some people will know, and will also know he's not long had the car charged.. Opportunity came up so i got my wallet out haha! Both cars are going to Engine Dynamics to have the bits swapped over and then they will be mapping it for me.

Thanks mate!
