Clio 197 ownership VERY disappointing

Hi, @ bigstu77 is it maybe it had rubbish fuel in the tank and is all cleaned out now after you having put v power in it? (Just a thought) I had my car on the rolling road last sat it's done 82,200 miles and 9 half years old always run on good fuel it ran 188bhp well happy and it gets a good/spirited run all the time so mimic @foxspeed comments. Il put a video link up of it on the rollers.

Where did you get it dyno'd?

Hi @ chris1888-197, I think the fuel may have been a big part of the issue. You must be pleased with 188 bhp I think once I'm back in work gonna fit exhaust and filter and off to rs tuning for a map. This should increase drive ability and grin factor.

Yeah def m8, glad to hear it's running better for you and you can start enjoying your car now.

Maybe I should do a retraction peace like newspapers do when they've got it wrong . I admit I should have waited to solve issue before hitting the forum with the thread. What can I say guys I TAKE IT ALL BACK. Really getting to like the lil 197! Wheel refurb, some new boots and some suspension work and ill be happy I think.

There is nothing worse than getting a car and getting all the issues you had m8. Glad it's sorted .you can go and really enjoy it now. Fun little cars .

Interesting thread. My first post on here.

I've had my 197 only two months or so having come from a Golf Mk6 R. A completely different kettle of fish. With the 197 there seems to be nothing before 2k rpm. Then it comes on cam and sounds great. As a contemporary road test said, it's almost like turbo lag. So I'm having to drive it in a very different way to the wall of torque that the Golf had. Having fun though...

By the way anyone have a good RS specialist in London? I gather the one in Wimbledon has gone/stopped doing everyday servicing.

Welcome to the forum  I get little jobs such as brakes and servicing from a local garage that I trust and specialist work done from Two Techs in Dartford. Not that close to me and a little pricey but well worth the journey and they really do know their stuff.
