Can we turn up the boost?

Hello,

Long time 200t owner, first time poster.

My 3 year warranty here in Aus expired recently and it got me thinking about some mods. Has anyone had any success with a basic bleed valve (MBC) to turn up the boost a notch? I imagine this might have been a common question, tried searching but to no avail.

Turn up the boost, bleed valve , sorry can't resist.

Who knows on this one, very very basic way of of keeping the actuator shut. Might work, what have you got to loose?

Sorry must stop it, (sarcasm) yes it might work, problem is these cars have a lot of sensors all feeding back, when the car see's a lot of boost and low throttle settings it bangs up faults. The main ECU works in conjunction with the gearbox ECU and you get all sorts of gearbox messages and limp modes, have a search of Superchips and you will see the problems people have had from their 3D mapping.

When upping the boost timing, fuelling, throttle position, knock all come into play. RS Tuning are in Aus in the next week or so, checkout the OZ site, but personally I wouldn't risk a bleed valve, I haven't used them since the turn of the century, but please try and feed back as we are still using a solenoid to control the boost pressure.

Yep.. 10 years ago i would have done something like this on day 1 of ownership. Things are obviously different now, I get that.. and was hoping that i wouldn't be the first one to give it a crack.

Have also looked at the Juke scene in the US, seems to be a more common cheap and dirty mod to consider. Dont know whether their cars run a lower boost or have different tolerances.

I will report back following success or failure.
