building my own intake...sort of!!!

I love the madeno intake. Unfortunately, first it costs 800 pounds and second they wont reply to my emails so I'm building my own version (sort of). I have asked a local motorsport company to fabricate a similar design for holding the filter in place. I need to find somewhere to make the inlet pipe but dont need it in carbon because of costs. The kit should be done in about a month....

What's so special about the Madeno one? It looks like it's just a cone filter with a feed of cold air from the front?

Seems a lot of money if that's all it is :s

after looking at this if your not bothered about how it looks and more about if it works
vaccum cleaner flex
macalpine elbow and extend to suit dimensions (from any plumbing merchant)
some hight temp braided flex's as used for steam (plumbing merchant again)
and fab the mount.
i'd be supried if this cost more than £30
in fact i'm going to have a look into this

Get them to build the bracket a bit higher and put some rubber door seal or similar on top to seal it against the bonnet, should help keep the temps down

i just bent the original bracket horizontally and attached the cone filter to it. try that cheap.
