Got a feeling Mr Ste is en route to becomming a very very sought after man.
to be honest i'm blown away with options at the moment so hard what to go for
Veee6!!!
Best to PM Ste tbh.
Parts you will need are:
Meg engine
Meg ecu (not all ecu's will work with Clio coding)
Meg Loom (need as new as possible as clips can be different)
Meg coolant hoses
Meg turbo and turbo oil feed pipes
Megane Manifold
Intercooler
Intercooler pipe work and silicone hoses
Cam belt
Aux belt
Spark plugs
Oil filter
Meg downpipe or Ktec/Milltek decat pipe (I went for ktec as its 3")
Milltek link pipe
Induction kit
You can use the Meg or Clio gearbox if you use the Meg gearbox you'll need the Meg gearbox mount, Meg driveshafts and gear linkage. Whilst the engine is out the car its advisable to change the clutch and the slave cylinder, also worth putting ARP rod bolts in too.
You can use the alternator and air con pump and bracket from the Clio.
Probably missed a few bits but its best to get everything before you start the conversion. One last thing is to get your engine from somewhere reputable like "French Spares" or from Ste himself.
Do not under any circumstances buy anything from WM Motors (also trading as West Midlands Motors) in Rugby, they ripped me off with an engine, total cowboys.
Stick with Ste and you'll be ok
why would you fit a 182 thermostat though?....i can only think its to run the engine hotter,if so then just let the engine warm up naturally as designed with the relevant stat in
check out the price of matched inlets,i'm sure your looking at a couple of hundred quid for 1/2bhp max if your lucky, very slight mid range torque gains as well,so a cam package is now approaching 2k :w00t:
just my opinions mate
standard thermostat is very cold, and the radiator is massive. They really struggle to get upto temperature. 182 stat is one of the best things I've done so far since owning mine. I'm not alone in this finding either.
Matched inlets aren't really about the peak figure gains, they smooth out response a fair amount, and with other power mods like cams, they do remove some restriction. You're right to have doubts, some of the early attempts I've seen were shocking, and they were the ones everyone was buying. The clue is, have they just been honked out to the gasket?, if so, that's very wrong. but people will go to ford specialists for renault work.....
ARP rod bolts are a no brainer IMO, Seen so many standard ones fail, and I do so many on 172s now becuase of it, I've started to hold stock rather than buy in 1 set at a time.
As I already said, I'm looking into a more cost effective option for cams, it's not an overnight thing to develop though so no promises yet, and I'm already trying to sort out ITBs.
