Bedford 87.5db with exhaust system ?

Previous owner has passed Bedford with it apparently so unsure now

Surprising. I've a ktec with the cat in the manifold still, and it just scrapes through at Donington (92db drive by)

Yeah but passed by short shifting / knowing where the microphones are.

Personally not worth the risk as they can be strict and throw you out

We ended up completely bunging one of the tail pipes from advice of custom exhaust makers. Makes all the boxes work harder resulting in keeping the noise down, but it's obviously very restrictive & hotter.

Dropped the static by 5 db, we drove it hard all day and did get the noise board a few times as were getting close, peeked at 86.8 and limit is 87.5.

Need to get a system made when we want to return back to Bedford or even Thruxton.

Apparently as its a 2.5" system that then splits into 2 back boxes and still remains on being 2.5" it acts like an amplifier, needs to be dropped to 2" for the tail pipes.

Personally I’d keep the exits at 2.5” and fit a mid silencer.

By reducing the sizes it’ll build up more back pressure in the exhaust which will effect overall performance

Has a pretty large mid silencer already.

Next track we want to do is Cadwell Park so should be okay for that then we'll look into it.

That’s one noisy car, I’ve got a standard mani, decat, res scorpion and that’s loud but never had noise test issues.
