Personally I think it is overrated, I have been to touristfahrten several times, but having since been to an organised track day at Cadwell, I can't really see any reason to go back - unless it was to a properly organised event, which would be v.v.expensive!

It's more about the road trip and socialising with friends, making a holiday out of it, rather than pure track action.

Agree with Ben there. Track day would be circa £400 for the day - full track obviously and fully manned with marshals.


Looks like you'll need snow tires just to get to the petrol station too

I have been the opposite over the years. The road trip is a boring 4 hour motorway drive so I stored a car there and flew out at weekends. I can get drunk with my friends at home, any time. I went there to drive the Nordschleife. Probably having a succession of Jahrekartes over the past few years didn't help as Man Logic took over and each lap was 'free' in my head

Agree. I won't drive round that track ever again.

I love the atmosphere and the social. Been three times now, and only been round the track twice. Love the food, and the weather!
