Any employment law people on here??

Missus was taken into her managers office and had her contract terminated. No reason or paperwork given?

She asked if she had done anything wrong, and was told she hadn't. It's just a case of 'suitability'?!

No previous warning, reprimands or telling offs.

Her contract says she is entitled to 4 weeks notice from the company but this was not mentioned.

Tried to call the manager concerned but won't return her calls?

Please only comment if you know factually what you are saying is correct, many thanks guys!!

Massive headache!!!!! Aghhhhhhhh!

It depends how long she has worked there. If she was employed after April 2012 they can terminate employment for any reason apart from discrimination for up to two years. She is entitled to notice period pay but may not necessarily be asked to work it.

Unfortunately no to both term of employment and after 2012 :worried:

Gutted! 4 weeks pay to find a new job :-/

Anyone want to buy a 300bhp 200?? Got one going cheap :worried:

Sorry to hear that mate, sounds like a pretty **** way to lose your job. Hope she finds something soon.

im pretty sure 4 weeks is the minimum that they have to pay anyhow, as most companies have to honour a 4 week notice period but this can vary from contract to contract as its quite common to have a 6 month probation period anyhow, obviously they don't have to ask you to work the 4 week period but they do still have to pay you it.

many companies when it comes to redundancy offer 1 week for every completed year of service, from a minimum of 4 weeks up to a maximum of 12.

Yep turns out yet again this country is a joke! You must have two years continuous employment to have any rights!!!

F@@king joke!!!!!
