Any Advice?

Having owned lots of fast cars over the last ten years I bought my first Renault yesterday - a 197. Saw it in red and decided I wanted it so it was an impulse purchase. Is there anything I should be weary of?

I've just read the buyers guide and wondered what the consensus is on going to main dealers or private garages for services?

Also, anyone got any ideas of cost for major 72k service?

Thanks

Where abouts are you based? There's a few good places for service, some are site traders too. TBH I've had bad experiences with Dealers, but its not fair to tar them all with the same brush, and it completely depends on where you are and what your local ones are like.

Its sadly quite difficult to find the good dealers and then even the good dealers don't always get it right. Always found the indis and specialists to provide a better service, mines only ever been serviced at indis as I'd have had a 60mile round trip just for an oil and filter change.

:welcome: to the site

Private garages are so much better in my opinion

Welcome!!!

I'd suggest keeping it looked after by a Renaultsport specialist rather than a dealer. There's a few around the country from BTM, K-Tec, Birchdown, 519Automotive to name just a few, depending on where you live and how far you're willing to travel. Prices are about the same at all the specialists but dealers will be more expensive as per the norm'. Hope you enjoy the car!!!
