Albi Blue 200 >> BMW E46 Track Car

Out of interest mate did you weigh the A/C parts? would be interested to hear what the weight saving is if any!

I've got the parts in a pile at the side of the garage because I haven't got around to removing the compressor yet due to the fact that the AC delete kit hasn't arrived yet. I'll weigh the lot when it's all removed.

I've ordered the following kit from @Flacsi. Got a list a mile long before the next day on Track at the end of Feb.

Well. I've bitten the bullet and bought a cup spoiler for the car. Now I'm thinking of continuing down the black and blue Stealth theme and painting the whole spoiler black...
eventually I want to add some red detailing. Spoiler end caps, red cage and spray the black section on the 200 red too.
Anyway for the time being, whole black cup spoiler, thoughts?

Got the car booked in for aslignment on Thursdays, so coilovers should hopefully arrive tomorrow and get them fitted.

Yeah, I've got some 2k here ready so
I'm going to crack the gun out and do some painting again. Good to hear other oppinions!

Yeah black spoiler and door handles would work nicely. For red highlights I'm doing a new-style rs rear badge, the renaultsport in black with blue writing and the rs part red. Also pondering red calipers but not sure.

so a word of advice..people who bought this spoiler from Italy, had experienced difficulties when priming the spoiler..just bare that in mind...

^^^ Agree with Shuv. Blue wing, black end plates. Or get some carbon end plates.

Black wing with blue end plates could make it look like it has little blue ears from some angles, especially in lower light.

Ooo getting some different ideas now. Might have to even make a poll for this.

1 - All black with red ends eventually,
2 - blue with black ends

I'll have a little think about it, I like to see what people think before I do thinks. So indecisive.

This is the red theme I'm thinking of going down for track car look.

I've always been a bit 50/50 on the cup spoiler Tom but having got mine fitted last week it does really make the car, especially a track car. If you're not 100% on colours, why not buy some vinyl off eBay? You could do some very rough wrapping in the various colours and tape it on the car just to get an idea of what it could look like.

If it was me I'd go blue with black ends but your motor, do what takes your liking. Could Anthracite to match the wheels be another possible option?

Well this week things got a little more serious....

Tuesday the following parcel arrived, couldn't get them out of the box quick enough.

GAZ Gold coilovers. 600lbs and 350lbs springs set up for track use and the fact the car will eventually be caged and probably run slicks. I could have gone for the 650 springs but I can easily swap them out later for very little cost if it needs to go even stiffer with full slicks on.

Spent 4 hours Yesterday removing the cup suspension and fitting these and got the car sitting level, not dropped it down fully yet, going to see how it settles after the track day on Saturday.

The car is going for alignment tomorrow before loading it onto the trailer to go away friday.

Today when I got home from work there was another parcel waiting for me from @Flacsi

I had already stripped all the AC from the car. just needed to get the AC Delete fitted.
Managed to get this done in 2 hours tonight and dropped the car by a further 10mm.

Got a Track day booked on Saturday at Anglesey, cant wait to get back onto track with the suspension and geometry changes.

Coilies look like a nice bit of kit Tom, true coilovers all around too. I should imagine they will be fantastic on the car, be keen to hear your reviews post track day, let us know how you get on at Anglesey.

Loving this thread mate. Always impressed with someone doing the work themselves. I have no garage skills what so ever!

Enjoying watching though.

hey matey, always good to see my parts on others car!

Floor it on Saturday and let us know how it behaves on track!

Great update Tom. Cars turning into a weapon mate.

Did you have to remove front bumper to strip out all the a/c stuff?
Considering doing this as my a/c is fubar
