Think mine needs a re-gas too, isn't blowing as cold as it probably should. Can usually get system drained, re-gassed and luminous dye put in (in case it does leak it makes the leak easy to find) for ~£40
197/200 air con system is a bit pants....plenty of issues and non working...
be most likely low/or no gas in the system - needs to be pipe up and checked - dont just get it "gassed" it needs vaccing out checking and re-filling with correct amounts
of gas/oil - there are also 2 types of pump and quantities varies
First point of call was to have it re-gassed and all results turned out positive.
Checked all obvious related fuses and relays and all seemed okay.
Further investigation shows that the compressor has no power getting to it and the positive wire has had a DIY repair to it at some point adjacent to the compressor.
Next thing to check will be switches on dash but any similar issues/advice would be appreciated.
Aircon is one of those things that once you've had it, you'd likely never buy a car again without it - I know I wouldn't unless it was some sort of "weekend car".
Nothing worse than sitting in a car on a hot day, or leaving work and getting into what is effectively an oven.
Thanks for the replies. Its not something thats really bothering me much but its nice to drive around with windows up and it nicely blowing now and again lol.
Ill update on it if i ever get round to sorting it. Knowing me ill probably wont bother in the end haha

Had mine checked out today. Only had ~200g of refrigerant so a regas was in order. The garage was surprised that the compressor was still able to kick in.
Now runs nice and cold and is *much* quieter. Hopefully the low gas hasn't put too much premature wear on the compressor.

pressure switch could be faulty as if the gas is to low it shouldnt run as the gas carriers the oil to lube the compressor....wonder it didnt seize it mg:
