182 decat help

Can anyone help me out here? Basically the bolts and bits that hold the cat or in my case decat to the exhaust manifold are all broke or had it. I have brought a nee set which included the gasket thing.

My question is where do the 2 extra washers go in this pic


The 2 that are on there own, I believe I have the sequence right so far, if not please correct.

i would say they go on the bottom of the springs....reduces heat fatiguing the springs - very similar set up to citroen and peugeot front pipe set up

the washers sit on the exhaust side if you get what i mean - they will reduce heat transfer in to the springs (i guess)

but i will stand corrected if wrong !

Ok thanks mate, the springs just looked a little more compressed than before. I have replaced all the bits though, the cup parts were so rusted the bolts just kept slipping through. And then that ruined the metal gasket bit

Yeah the 182 cat - mani joint is a pain! The number of times I had mine in bits was ridiculous!

Still, much easier than the 172's

Did you fit the cams and get it mapped before de catting it?

The cams were fitted, I fitted the Decat, it was then remapped by TDF
