I have kept a spreadsheet of all the money I have spent on my Clio. It is painful to look at it. Spend your money, as long as you can afford it, and enjoy it.
When I got mine I got a couple of bits done shortly after buying it, paint and dents all sorted circa £500, new keycard £250, snappy retrim £200 it soon adds up. I’m trying to fight the urge to do the alloys as they are not to bad but all these jobs you would do on most used cars to be fair.

I have one of those… sometimes I just sit staring at it wondering how so many small numbers can add up to such a big number… the spreadsheet must be broken
I recently bought a ropey 200 for reasonably cheap price. It's so far cost £2000 to get up to standard. Gearbox refurb, cambelt, clutch, water pump, cup dampers with cooksport springs, ball joint, service and I'm sure there is more. Need to do pads, lines, fluid and tyres and seat subframe yet. Cars are never cheap!

Let me know where your getting the work done, that sounds reasonable. Ive been quoted 1k for a refurb box, £660 for cambelt, £790 for clutch. £290 for a service. Fitting new discs, pads, and a caliper service this weekend, and I need to sort the manifold out too because its having a bit of a disagreement with the bulkhead

See Alex at AWMOTORWORKS, he'll look after you. He rebuilt my gearbox, new clutch and slave and fitted an LSD for £1660. He'll do it all in one day so it's a proper drive in drive out service. I don't know what his prices are like for belts but it'll be a decent price.

All those quotes (apart from the service) are the going rate in the southeast. Not sure where you’re based but for the cost of a tank of petrol I’m sure you can find somewhere cheaper.
