£80 for front bumper removal?

I've just phoned a local garage who specialist in Renaults.

They quoted me £80 for a front bumper removal!! Is this normal?

Because I am thinking, they don't want the job and are making it worth their while if I say yes...

I'm interested in other peoples experience with removing front bumpers and mechanics doing such things.

I removed mine myself just take the arch lines out and there is 2 bolts one on each side and a few underneath from memory.. why do you need it removed?

To put a carbon fibre badge on.

I don't have a jack for my car and I can't get to the bolts with the wheels on because it's too low and the wheels are too big. >.<

oh well even to buy a trolley jack would cost £25, its still cheaper than £80 and you get a trolley jack out of it

Try a bodyshop im sure they'll be more reasonable than a backstreet garage.

Yeah, I printed it out and had it to hand... I couldn't do it. I'm not practical like that haha. Every time I try and mod my car, something goes wrong.

I chipped my bonet just tatting with my wipers.
I lost a piece of metal inside my door when fitting the wind deflectors.
I broke a front grill trying to remove it.

I'm surprised I didn't blow the car up fitting my wheel nut covers.

I'm bloody useless at this DIY shiz.

I started doing this bumper on Saturday and I could see it going wrong so put the tools down before I regretted it. I think I also lack the correct tools for the job.

I can make you a website using nothing but notepad and help your business make loads of money.

But give me a car and a spanner and you're asking for a mess.

It's about the going rate. I wanted a garage to sort my lights for me, they wanted £60. I told them to do one, it's so bloody easy.

Does the standard jack fit under the car? If you can get some new arch liner clips, bring it round to mine and i will show the way.
