chris1888-197 it was probably around 3 years ago now.

I received one, and was advised to completely ignore it and not retaliate in anyway. A few letters came through threatening increased fine amount and court etc, then it eventually went away.

cl955 thanks, it was really easy. The hardest part is removing the metal clamp from the standard one.

Thanks Beany-08gt. There was an increase in vibration initially, however it soon settled down after a few weeks.

Thanks very much jimmyd81, I have to agree best colour (biased :lol2:) but hardest to keep clean!

Hi All, After having owned my 197 for a year now, I thought I would go ahead and make a progress thread. Plans: Cup steering rack Streering wheel retrim Remove small dents from bonnet (possible hail damage) Change gearbox oil Caliper recolour Replace door seal - Done New headunit - Done...

struan1112, this went on my 172 Cup when I had it, it developed a rattle at around 4k as you say. Exhaust fitting kit resolved the issue. It didn't put the coolant light on though.

After all of the above, I had someone else drive the car so I could have a better listen, then I realised the noise wasn't even coming from the front....Doh! Replaced the rear pads and cleaned the calipers up, all sorted.

Morning All, My car seems to have developed an intermittent issue that I'm having a problem diagnosing. When I take the car out from cold everything is fine, however after driving around 5-10 miles and the car has started to warm (usually on the motorway doing 70), a loud squealing noise...

Agreed, looks awful.
