    4th gear crunch

I'm not sure if the 172 and 197 boxes are the same, but the mechanic said that on my box 1,2, 5 and 6 gears use a brass synchro ring, however, both 3rd and 4th are mild steel with a friction material bonded in the centre. As a result it seems that 3rd and 4th are more susceptible to wear and...

    4th gear crunch

Not sure if anyone's in the South Yorkshire area, but if so I just had 4th gear (and 3rd) repaired on my 2007 197 F1 by www.ddconline.co.uk / 01302 340 300 (ask for Richard). I would highly recommend them! Cost about £1000 inc VAT, which included synchro for 3rd and 4th, new 4th gear as there...

    Fifth Gear: RS 200 Tuning

I agree, however, (as Chris said) I don't think they would have been able to get the point across that the biggest improvement was driver training. ;)

    Brake Ducting

Am I right in thinking that I'll need 2 litres?

    Brake Ducting

Still think I'd like to have some ducting, but as I don't know what brake fluid is in my car it's probably worth replacing it. Is there any particular brand you would recommend?

    Brake Ducting

Just a little concerned about boiling the brake fluid. I was at a track day about two weeks ago and 3 172/182's boiled their brake fluid and I was braking much later and harder than them. It was open pit lane and I was doing 15 min sessions with a single slowdown lap and I didn't feel any...

    Brake Ducting

Wow they look really nice! I don't think my wife would approve at that price tho..

    Brake Ducting

Has anyone setup some brake ducting? Ideally I either want something that leaves the car looking standard or if not something that can can easily remove after the track? I've seen quite a few 172/182's where the fog lights have been removed and ducting added. Is there anything off the shelf...

    Red R27 Sheffield

Hi everyone, I was waiting to get a couple of good pics, but haven't had the chance... maybe I'll add some at a later date! Got the car a couple of months ago and got jumped by Jase (at least I think it was Jase) in Meadowhall who gave a card for the site! Only been using it for a short...

    Damn key card!!!

I'm not sure if its just me going mad, but my Key Card doesn't seem to work if its in the same pocket as my iPhone. It will always let me open the doors, however, when I press the start button it can't seem to sense the key.
