Managed to get the Nimbus scrubbed up!

Looks awesome. It always pains me to see Recaros on with covers though. I get that they wear really easy, but unless you're a mechanic who gets in/out the car with greasy clothes on, then I don't see the point in having nice (expensive) seats, then making them look crap? I bought a car with...

    Ouch! That sucks! :(

    New lotus

I'm still coming round on the colour. Not how I would spec it, but each to their own. Although I have made the comment in the past that Lotus Elises can pull off any colour, so I'm sure in the flesh it'll work. Spec seems good. Adding 'comfort' to an Elise just seems like a pointless exercise IMO.

who make the standard rear discs on the 197?

^^ AFAIK this. The fronts are Brembo HC discs, the backs are SNR. You can buy them from EuroCarParts or NextDayBrakes are pretty cheap. Personally I'd buy some black coated ones from MTec drilled and grooved are cheap enough too.

    NIMBUS - the DIY thread

Looking good. Seems like you're making good progress to say that you're doing it all yourself.

I agree on the wheels. Was worth a shot to see how they would look. But for me they don't fit the theme now it's painted.

    Project 111 is born

. We did what prep we could given the time we had. TBH for first timers, on a modest budget, working with an accident damaged car and doing it in a "shed", I'm pretty chuffed with the results. Is it perfect? No. Did we learn a lot? Yes. Would do it the same next time? No. Would we do it...

Few quid to spend, thoughts please

2,3,4 sounds decent. Projectors look much nicer, sprint boosters are supposedly a nice addition as is an underseat sub because the OEM speakers are pish and taking some base out of the rattly french door cards is a good idea.

    Project 111 is born

Haha yeah, but I have to be Edd :D. The car was hard work for a first attempt at spraying. We literally couldn't have picked a trickier first car, what with all the grills, vents and curves on a lotus and the uneven paint colours to start with. But we made good progress, learnt a LOT (main...

    iPhone 6

Meh. This is mostly cherry picked info. I could make one from 1996 that says 'able to send text AND multimedia messages, can make phone calls.. etc". I'm no fanboy for Apple by any stretch of the imagination, and (like ALL companies) they certainly have their failings. What they do very well...

    Hi from Oz

Could you support the engine from underneath with a block of wood and a trolley jack while you get the new link in? or is that a No-No?

    Matt's GW 200

I seem to have missed a lot of this thread. Car looks good and a lot of effort gone in to it. Nice work

    Finally Bought One

:welcome: to the forum, nice pair of cars. Red is always a winner for me. It was an OEM colour for the cup cars so means you can have something to liven it up without looking to odd.

    What size spacer?

You won't get as much drop iMak, but they do sit nicely on H&R's. IIRC Jases car was on H&R's (albi blue car with the 'Jase' private plate further up the thread).

** Give your honest feedback about Clio197/200.net **

Interesting points steve11. As other members have said, I've always liked it when we get some members from other areas joining, as said Masa used to have an interesting take on RS ownership, and the pics and meets from the Oz stuff also helps add depth to the forum. I knew you guys liked your...
