    Much call for 197 parts????

If the car needs an engine I would say you’d be lucky to get £1,500? You may get a bit more from breaking it.

    Blown shock after <5k miles?!?!

As above. You’ll get parts warranty (for 12 months) so long as a manufacturing defect can be identified. Not sure how it will work with a shock though as Renaults repair method says both should be replaced.

    Ultra Red 200 Cup FF

Cheers John! It was actually Pro Line who I had contacted via Facebook. Hadn’t realised they on here also. 6 line sounds the way to go. Just thought I may aswell have them changed at the same time as the brake fluid. It’s never ending....I’ll be buying pads next too lol...

    Ultra Red 200 Cup FF

Some more fluids have arrived over the last couple of days. After much deliberation I opted for ELF NFP 75w80 Gear Oil. Having looked at ELF NFJ, Redline and others I decided on the NFP (thanks to @peter and @Antti O). It’s worth mentioning I don’t have any gearbox issues but the car is over...

    Clio 197/200 common issues.

What would you budget be? I think some of the 200’s listed around the £5k price bracket could be a bit of a minefield. You could get a really good genuine car or you could just as easily get a dog. Is your Megane up for sale at present? Having went 197 R27 - 265 Cup - 200 FF I am now feeling...

    Dougs Albi blue 197

As @Antti O says NFJ is what comes in the box from factory. I believe that all the likes of Renault Parts Direct sell if NFJ. 2L will be enough.

    Dougs Albi blue 197

I’m in the same predicament as yourself at the moment Doug re gear oil. I had been weighing up the Elf NFP/NFJ or Redline alternative. I think I’m going to go for the Redline option though. I’m sure the difference won’t be massive over Elf but with the car being 8 years old it will definitely...

    Harespeed LY Clio 200

    Ultra Red 200 Cup FF

So some parts have arrived over the last few days. I ordered replacement rear brake calipers, oil and passenger side front speaker through work. I know I will need a replacement part for the coolant leak, it could be a pipe or it could be a radiator required, but I will see what the...

    Insurance!

Greenlight where miles cheaper than anyone for my Clio 200. All modifications declared and no cost to any any extras (unless there is a high uplift in BHP). I was insured with Adrian Flux on my Megane 265 so both would be worth a call.

    Gear oil change

Bit of a thread revival. Is 75w90 definitely the correct gear oil for these boxes? I thought the standard Renault Elf oil was 75w80.
