    The Clio of Epic Sluggishness.

Cause of the miss fire / hesitancy resolved. There appeared to be some random latency that was happening at moderate throttle, or in reality pressure. However a replacement sensor and all sorted. Thank you Engine Dynamics.

    The Clio of Epic Sluggishness.

So as quick little update. I wrote elsewhere about the handling on the road and that I was finding it somewhat perturbing as if the suspension could no longer cope. Last Thursday we were at Snetterton and I have to say it now makes far more sense. I have always wanted this car to remain drivable...

For that matter the Dunlop was tested last and it was pretty slippy in the morning when we got to go out at 9:35

The ULTIMATE Track Day Tyre Test! (2021) - Dunlop, MRF, Nankang, Pirelli, Yokohama, Zestino!

Are you sitting comfortably? There have been numerous test tyres that have got into the wild but as far as the wider public is concerned the compound was H1, which for arguments sake I will call hard, even though it was not. Some of these tyres were marked Super Hard, but only because the...

    Suspension / alignment opinion.

I will start this by saying, I absolutely know that the car needs to be checked for what it is at the moment, because I don't have a scooby, but I am hoping the issue does lay in the alignment. So if you are sitting comfortably! In March the Clio of Epic Sluggishness went to a garage to become...

Can anyone recommend some light semi-slick ?

While I am on this. The Nitto Nankang "test" is one of those things that tries to over analyse and ends up creating "Internet knowledge" Comparing a used tyre against a worn tyre is never valid. This is wronger than a wrong thing in wrong custard! "The car has been running a set of 205 40 17...

Can anyone recommend some light semi-slick ?

Long post alert! I have been involved in many many tyre tests. Weight has never, ever been a consideration over the attributes of the tyre and how it delivers driver feel, lap time and consistency. With the examples above, what is the comparison apart from weight? When you consider that the...

Can anyone recommend some light semi-slick ?

Not sure where you would expect to go with this and what you would expect to achieve by knowing weights. They are all going to be about 11Kg and they will all lose around 0.75Kg for each mm of tread wear.

    The Clio of Epic Sluggishness.

If I didn't know any different, I would say it drives exactly as it did before. There is no lack of flexibility. I notice exactly what it shows in the torque curve. There is noticeably stronger pick-up at 3K then you feel the slight lack of urgency as it gets to 4K. At 5K though it picks up its...

These are the 405 cams, but not just a case of bolting them in. It is the follower and hydraulic lifter kit as well. Plus a K Tech inlet, exhaust and cat, with Miltek from the cat back.

    The Clio of Epic Sluggishness.

It is rare for me to post or even create a progress thread as I have done all that sort of stuff years ago with Mazda's and it has basically all been done. However, my Storm Grey 200, which bought in 2017 for £2,500 and love driving needed some love. It might have only cost that much, it had...

Track Day Scrutineering Yes / No.....

Exactly this. Pre race scrutineering is not a check of the car's ability to throw oil everywhere, but is limited to specific things, mainly to do with the safety equipment in the car, if it is in date and securely fixed etc. Even at that there are between 5 and 10 people doing this and those...
