    PS4 on track

Snetterton is a long track, if you are breaking 2:40 on road tyres in a road car you are peddling well. If you want to keep temps down then you can be on it by the time you come to Bentley Straight and then 3 further laps is already going to see you over 10 minutes. And I can assure everybody...

    Toyo 888

It is the unsupported edge of rubber that folds into the tread void from the side that the load is applied to. Because that folds into, or more so there is nothing supporting the rubber at that point it is not subject to the same load as the more solid rubber and so does not wear as much. It is...

NS-2R vs R888R in the wet

Very much so. I assume plasticine is still a thing, but all that stuff like Blu Tac starts out hard and you knead it to soften in and make it sticky. It is the squidging it (and the heat from your hand) that gives it the heat. If you run tyres soft, the main deflection occurs in the sidewall...

NS-2R vs R888R in the wet

Your problem with both of these tyres is heat, or more to the point lack of it. If you had been circulating for 10 minutes before it started to rain you stand a chance or if you are doing a longer distance where you have time to actually get some sort of heat in them then you again can get on...

    Toby's Track-Ready Daily 197

Toby, I am not having a particular go, more that "apparent" safety is very prevalent across social media. The current "knowledge" is that reclining seats should not be used with harness. I too have raced for many years. The point I wanted to make, so that everyone is aware, not poke at you, is...

    Toby's Track-Ready Daily 197

Sorry, boring old fart post about safety. This is not a pop at anyone but more safety advice prompted by two excursions off track as I see many, many things like this. Without HANS, the standard seatbelt, with pretensioner and then load limiting rip plates and airbag is far safer. I knew someone...

    Clutch malfunctioning.

That's a negatory on the Trackday. Trackdays will expose any weakness that driving to Tesco's will mask. It is likely to fail on track with one of very many possible outcomes, some of which may be quite emotional. At best, it will leave you with a problem of how to get home with no clutch.

We have many people removed Direza in favor of the MRF ZTR, Civic Cup tyre as they have found them just as fast, if not faster. Fiesta Juniors, which have to run a treaded tyre, have gone faster in all races against the Direza that was previously used. In addition they should be noticeably...

No, 200 Cup and 182,000 miles and sweet as a nut.

Shame really! A pair of hammered Clio’s at Silverstone.

There is a lot of tyres because they can be got through rather quickly.

Shame really! A pair of hammered Clio’s at Silverstone.

Oh, and in addition, they are doing what they were built for by the designers, to cover a multitude of uses and perform very well as standard on track.

These cars are used for all maner of activities including ARDS tests, training and high speed passenger rides. The odometer is not switched off and parts get replaced regularly or rebuilt when required. I would trust these cars far more than many because it matters that they work right. It...

    Matt's 200

I don't think there is anything wrong with Cup2's per se, it's just that the internet raises expectations. BMW forums, a place where fitting anything but a Michelin makes you a Pikey or deserving of death, because when you have spent new M3 money how dare you not, will fit a set of Cups and...
