Have you tried to put power directly through the terminals of the starter motor to see if it works? I had a starter motor die without any warning and tried to resolve the issue by checking fuses etc., etc. but the starter motor was one of the last things I tried.
I use a CANchecked display which reads data from the OBD2 port - albeit it has been hard wired in to the rear of the OBD2 port.
I have not done much to tap in to the CAN bus other than extract data for basic stuff like RPM, coolant temp etc., etc.
Here are some of the track day photos from Donington Park on 18th June 2024.
Track Obsession used to have a photographer called Katie Foster who did all of their photography. I have been told that they have parted company now. These photos were okay, but I think that the original photos have...
We got the tyres from someone who had raced on them. They have probably had too many heat cycles. They are being replaced with a brand new set of Direzzas which will be good as we have never had the joy of new semi slicks.
I will be the first to admit that I am not the greatest driver so my description of the mechanics/physics may be slightly off.
This is a video of one of @EthanMenace's longer sessions which includes the lap that I have already posted above.
I wasn't recording the throttle pedal inputs...
We went to Donington Park today for a track day that was dry all day. There was no rain even though the forecast for weeks had been rain in the afternoon at 3pm. After our recent wet and damp track days I was really pleased to be able to put on the semi slick tyres and try to drive as fast as we...
We are going over via the tunnel on Saturday 29th June 2024 and should be there by late afternoon or early evening. We are leaving on Tuesday 2nd July 2024 to catch a late afternoon/early evening crossing home.
What about you?
We replaced the boots on the Superpro anti-rotation links today. Both of the boots that sat closest to the brakes were rather crusty and knackered.
When the boots were removed the joint still looked clean.
Even though the two boots that were on the end of the anti-rotation like that bolts...
Well done for identifying the problem.
Does your VXDIAG device maintain a constant connection? My cheap CLIP clone drops the connection to the car randomly which makes it useless for some tasks.
The sounds like awful service from a Renault dealer. In the UK I wouldn't bother to take my Ciio to a Renault dealer as they would probably charge very high prices to get staff who are not familiar with a Clio 200 to complete maintenance work.
I have sent off a warranty claim form to Superpro with an invoice showing I paid for the anti rotation links and a photo of the damaged boots. They have replied today to say they will send out some replacement boots to me.
I can't upload the warranty form here as it is an Excel form but if...
This weekend I had some time on my hands other than attending at a dog birthday party. The Clio had not received much attention since we went to Cadwell Park. It had not been cleaned after two tracks days so I gave it a deep clean inside. Despite Douglas not being transported about in the Clio...
Can you not just take out the passenger side light and put in a blank/cold air feed rather than use a smaller duct?
Also, don’t forget that every time you look at the photo of you on Paddock Hill bend I will be looking back at you!
