    Glacier White 200 Cup

I am sure someone here will know the answer to my questions about suspension. We have have a set of Gaz Golds with spring rates that are 600lb front and 350lb rear. We were not sure what spring rates to go for when we got them so relied on Matt from Supreme Motorsport to guide us. Originally we...

    Exhaust heatshields

I might be wrong but isn't that the starter motor heat shield from round the back of the engine by the exhaust manifold?

    Glacier White 200 Cup

Track day photos from Brands Hatch this week. This 3 series was on a German plate that read cocky36. @EthanMenace and the BMW shared some track battle time. Just going out of view on the left is the annoying driver who refused to move out of the way. Paddock Hill bend bum shot.

I think I follow him and he follows me. I have some footage of him on track as well.

    Glacier White 200 Cup

We went to Brands Hatch tonight for an evening session with Open Track. It has now become an annual evening session for us at Brands Hatch in the summer as it is only 45 minutes from home and usually on a late July evening you can expect warm sunny weather. @EthanMenace had the day off today...

    Glacier White 200 Cup

We decided to buy a track day jack rather than bringing our 2 tonne Halfords Advanced jack that is made out of steel to every track day. We have purchased a SGS aluminium 1.5 tonne "Raceday" jack. It is a lot lighter than the other jack and can be picked up with one hand so it should stop me...

    Glacier White 200 Cup

@EthanMenace had bought some Wheeler Motorsport bucket seat safety plates last year and fitted them this weekend. We have had a few track days when we have been in the middle of a track session when something rolls under the pedals that had been the back of the car. A very long time ago at...

    Sat nav dead Clio RS

In 197 and 200 models a faulty battery or dodgy earth could cause lots of problems with alarms going off. Have you tried changing the battery?

    Glacier White 200 Cup

The Gaz Golds are 600 front and 350 rear - so set up the opposite way to a Cup Racer as they are stiffer at the front and softer at the back.

R20 BTG - 200 Cup Track Car Blog

I think that MRFs are just hard to kill off. The tread depth will be deceptive and it is only when they fail to grip round corners that you really know that they are dead. The Clio must have enjoyed the weather compared to big boost cars.

You can't do much other than change the oil and hope for the best. There do not seem to be any options that are similar in price to replacing, or rebuilding the gearbox, to solve the issue of having a box that is considered to be a consumable car part. A fancy sequential box is just too expensive.

    Glacier White 200 Cup

@EthanMenace did some post Ring trip maintenance on the Clio today by changing the oil and oil filter. Today the car was not jacked up for an oil change. Instead the under tray was removed and and oil pan was put under the car to catch any spills. The Sealey Oil Vacuum Extractor was put to work...

    Engine Mounts

We have got solid bushes on the rear axle, solid bushes in the wishbones but yellow PowerFlex mounts for the engine and gearbox. With a full interior (with the exception of the rear seats which have been removed) a lot of the noise gets soaked up. I want to go down the PMS solid mounts route...

    Glacier White 200 Cup

We have finally ticked off a bucket list item and done the Nordschleife. People have joked that it took us longer to get to Anglesey from Essex than it would to get to the Nurburgring and they were right. We got the Chunnel across to Calais and drove the Clio through Belgium to get to Nurburg...

    Bonnet won't open

Have a look at this thread https://clio197.net/threads/bonnet-wont-open-latch-catch-nothing.66852/#post-755667 The bonnet lever inside the car pulls a wire on the bonnet latch. If you can get your arm up inside the engine from the bottom you should be able to open it.
