My Clio has in it Motul 660 brake fluid, Redline MTL 75w80 gearbox oil and Fuchs Titan Race Pro S 5w40 engine oil. I have used the Fuchs engine oil for years and it has always been good, same for the brake fluid.

If you had got yourself a cheap bolt in cage you would not have these problems.

Does your cage not let you fit them in the boot?

Its effect is a lot more obvious on track. You won’t spin up a wheel when accelerating out of a corner, and you have more grip with the throttle engaged on corners.

I think that the centre console is part of the Cup Racer dash, but it looks like it has been cut down.

We have purchased a new genuine slave from FrogJam. I am really hoping that this solves our gearbox issues.

Ah, that’s interesting as I am fairly confident we have got clutch drag.

We got the resistance in the pedal at the end when we were bleeding it, and not before when we were driving it. This may be a silly question but is the clutch plate all part of a clutch that you can swap out rather than another piece of kit?

That’s exactly what I thought. It was good to see WhatsApp messages on Friday from Alex who rebuilt my gearbox who said, “Remember I told you to change it.”

We are working on the basis that there is something wrong with the clutch system that is causing the gearbox problems. The gearbox has been rebuilt so it should be healthy internally. The clutch and slave were not replaced when we refurbed the gearbox so they are potential problems. At Mallory...

Are you replacing the clutch and/or slave whilst the box is out? I am regretting not replacing the slave when we had our box done recently.

Renault sell the two parts of the front hubs that come complete with new swivels but they are really expensive. They refuse to sell just the swivel joints alone so you have to buy non-OEM swivels. You can get replacement swivels and press them in to the hub parts that you have already.
