Did you pick this up from Hawkinge/Folkestone by any chance?

I have done this for my sub, but if i were you, i would splice into the front speakers wiring as i noticed it gave a better sound than using the rear. if you are still having problems, i can check the wire colours on mine at some point. let me know dave

The 5th wire is a ground lead. Its supposed to help get rid of the interference, but mine doesnt work too well to be honest. But this doesnt matter if its just for a sub.
