    The Definitive What Wheels Thread...

Hey guys, so I recently had to pick up some parts and removed the spare wheel and passenger seat to fit it all in, the car felt so much lighter on it's feet I'm now looking into some lightweight wheels. I'm interested in OZ Ultraleggeras yet can only find 7.5x17 5x108 in titanium with et40...

    Clio 200 Vehicle Type Code?

Thanks, I gave instructions on how to find the vehicle code in the original post. I figure asking in the 200 section of the forum is the right place to ask.

    Clio 200 Vehicle Type Code?

Is that the vehicle type code for a 200? I can't find vehicle type CB05 for Clio Mk III. I drive a 197 but would like the code for a 200 to look up parts.

    Clio 200 Vehicle Type Code?

Hey guys  I was hoping one of you lovely 200 owners could help me out with the vehicle type code for a 200? In the door shut there's a sticker and number 9 on the diagram below is the vehicle code. It should be a mixture of 4 letters/numbers. Cheers!

    Camshaft Sensor Location

If you unbolt the dipstick from the manifold there can be enough room to remove the sensor, it is a little fiddly so take care to not drop the bolt.

    Rattle on idle...

My first thought was a powerflex bush on the torque arm, which I found caused the steering to shake on idle and was particularly bad with the A/C on. The video does sound like a heatsheild rattle, which shouldn't cause the steering wheel to vibrate so maybe a couple of things to look at.

Clio 197 shape engine swap to with Megane RS 250

I owned a standard Mk3 for a good few years and looked into modifying as the 197 was too expensive when it first came out, when I finally climbed into a 197 years later the difference was unbelieveable. Just leaving aside the engine/power, the way it sits on the road feels like a completely...

    Lower wishbone to hub carrier

In the tip of the wishbone's ball joint thread you can hold a hex bit with a ratchet, then use a ring spanner to tighten the nut. The hex is easy to round off so be careful and take it slow.

Zen and the Art of Clio Maintenance

The last few times under the car I noticed rust eating away at the edges of the radiator subframe which I've been waiting for some warm weather to treat... After removing the subframe (4 bolts) I manually sanded the rust away then treated with a rust convertor, followed by epoxy mastic. I...

    Drivers electric window

I get the feeling it may be the switch rather than the regulator, just a hunch though. The one touch drivers window on my car is reliably intermittent, same with the passenger side power-folding mirror. :french:

Oil leak around camshaft position sensor.

I had a similar issue, it's worth keeping an eye on as it's easy to check and if left unattended can make a right mess. The seal/sensor seemed to be in fine condition yet wasn't doing it's job. There should be a rubber ring around the groove on the sensor which acts as a seal. Some of the...

Zen and the Art of Clio Maintenance

I gave my car an oil change earlier in the week and noticed the o/s/f spring was broken. When up in the air you could see the springs weren’t sitting at the same height (pictured) and on the floor there was almost no difference. The car had been driving fine and only noticed an o/s knock when...

I imagine on track that some more straight line speed would be welcome, on roads though there's plenty of power and grip to have fun with. The lack of straight line speed also discourages getting involved in any silly road racing!

Zen and the Art of Clio Maintenance

Hello fellow Clio enthusiasts  I’ve been driving my 197 for over 7 years now, have browsed the forum sporadically but never signed up to make a dedicated thread, as they say - better late than never! A brief history of my car – only one previous owner who partxed after a few thousand...
